Signup Deadline: Wednesday, October 2
RTP Team Pickleball is a unique style of competition where teams of four players (open gender) compete against each other in a fun and social format with twists on your traditional play. Coordinated team outfits or colours are HIGHLY encouraged.
Each week, teams will compete in one match consisting of 6 x 12-minute games. Players will rotate after each game to ensure equal playing time. The order in which players play and who their partner is, is determined by their skill level (See our rules page for more details). While two players from your team are playing, the other two players from your team are engaged and cheering from the bench. This team format of pickleball is energetic, incredibly social, and closely mimics the new "Minor League Pickleball" being played across the US (just google it!).
Matches will take place in a 90-minute block which includes time for warm-up, 6 games, game tie-breakers (if necessary), water breaks, and strategy.
Participants are required to bring their own paddles, while RTP will provide the balls, and nets.
To ensure fair and competitive play, participants should adhere to the skill level criteria.
Recreation: You’re excited to play and still mastering the basics. You can keep a rally going but will miss a few easy shots. You’re here for fun and friendly matches while improving your serve and return skills. You enjoy social games and making new friends on the court.
Intermediate: You have experience playing pickleball and have a solid understanding of strategy. You can keep rallies going, can control your shots and are starting to use spins and placement. You’re comfortable with net play and are getting better at anticipating your opponent’s moves. You enjoy competitive play but still like to have fun and learn.
